About your home from home

The 19th Acre is on the National Trust coastal pathway between Porthtowan and Chapel Porth. We have two cottages called Swallows and Skylarks. We offer outdoor play areas, a bike shed, surf board storage and  fully accessible accommodations. If you want to bring a dog or animal then we'll talk to you about our onsite residency options. We welcome you whatever the season or occasion!  Each cottage can sleep up to 5 people comfortably, and is ideally located for surfers, walkers and lovers of Cornwall.

We are proud of our fabulous location in West Cornwall where we are surrounded by beaches and beautiful natural landscapes. For those wishing to relax and indulge we are within walking distance of a lovely family pub. and for those with an interest in local arts and Cornwall's famous creativity it's just a short walk to shops, cafes and restaurants. For the adventurous among you you're encouraged to enjoy paragliding off our cliffs, sight seeing by aircraft from Perranporth, coasteering, cycling, fishing, golfing and even hopping on an All terrain vehicle at the center just 10 minutes away. All of this can be enjoyed from the peace and serenity of your own cottage by the sea. Talk to us about special offers and organizing planned fitness activities with an on site fitness instructor for a more organized active getaway.

The Space

A large modern and spacious apartment. Less than a 10 minutes easy walk to stunning cliff top views over surfing beach Chapel Porth. There is a pub within walking distance and it's a short drive to great bars (check out the Blue Bar), cafes, and restaurants in Porthtowan, St Agnes, Truro and Mt Hawke. Visit Truro for a wide range of local shops or St Agnes and Porthtowan for gift shopping or lazy afternoon browsing. Just 15 minutes walk to Porthtowan beach across 'Poldark' country. 

Skylarks sleeps 5. It has one double bedroom and a bedroom sleeping 3 comfortably in one bunk bed and one single bed. It has a large lounge and dining room, pleasant farm, country views. It has a TV, dvd, washing machine, dishwasher, free wi-fi and storage for surf-boards, buggies, etc. There's even a hose pipe outside for washing down the wet suit at night.

Swallows is practically identical and sleeps 4. Although can be set up for 5 on request.

Both cottages have access to large patio and garden space. We invite you to play football or croquet on the lawn or just relax with a glass of wine on the patio built in 2015.

Guest Access

The apartment can be accessed by driving into a large gravel courtyard. Look for the farm shop. You will enjoy a private and secure location.

There's lots of parking available. You will find plenty of room. Don't worry, just enjoy.

Interaction with Guests

We, the owners, are no longer living on site but we have a great team on site who are there to support your needs.  In addition all contact information reaches the owners first. We will be returning to Porthtowan in the next 2 to 3 years.

The Neighbourhood

We are a farm in a rural area on a cliff top and we are on the doorstep of two amazing family friendly beaches - Chapel Porth and Porthtowan (Blue Flag winner) are within a 10 minute drive. Mount Hawke's indoor skatepark is on our doorstep too. This location is great for surfing or body-boarding.. It is a brilliant place for all outdoor activities in general, with safe access for children. Tennis courts, lawn bowls, fishing , boating, golf and putting all found in nearby towns like Perranporth. There's a Zoo in Newquay and the Flambards attractions are in Helston. The Cornish Coastal Path is across the road less than a minute on foot. Our Cottages are a great base for walking holidays. If you like an after beach beer or meal then no taxis or cars required. Just walk across the field to the pub.

For those who enjoy a home 'cook out' why not stay home and cook a meal with fresh produce from the farm shop that's on site. We sell fresh pork and eggs. For those who love seafood there's a wonderful nearby Fish monger within walking distance. Why not cook the 'catch of the day'.

Getting Around

Regular bus service to Truro to meet the mainline trains and local bus services through West Cornwall. The 19th Acre is close to St Agnes in Towan Cross and is just off the A30 at the Chiverton Roundabout. Follow signs to St Agnes and then Porthtowan, We are only a two hour from Exeter ( M5 ) and an hour from Plymouth. Truro is within easy driving distance as are all the beaches and attractions of Cornwall.

Other Things to Note

Located right on the wonderful Atlantic coast of Cornwall,  paragliding, flying, Coasteering, running, cycling (check out nearby Bissoe Trail ) horseriding on the beach etc. Our cottages are an ideal destination for active walking or surfing weekends, holidays, short breaks and weddings or just relaxing by the seaside!! 

House Rules

No smoking inside these accommodations. Pets allowed with well-behaved owners by arrangement!!  Please call in advance. Arrival time after 3pm you but check out time 10.00am please.
